Internal Complaint Committee (ICC)

The “Internal Complaints Committee” (ICC) of Government General Degree College, Mohanpur, is designated under the UGC Notification (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions Regulation, 2015). The committee is committed to preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and provides comprehensive assistance for any complaints related to sexual harassment.

What Constitutes Sexual Harassment:

1. Physical contact and advances
2. A demand or request for sexual favors
3. Making sexually colored remarks
4. Showing pornography
5. Any other unwelcome physical, verbal, or non-verbal conduct

Functions of the ICC:

1. Redressal of Complaints:

The ICC is responsible for formally addressing complaints of sexual harassment. It receives complaints, conducts time-bound inquiries, and recommends disciplinary action as per the established rules and procedures.

2. Maintaining Anonymity and Ensuring Safety:

The ICC ensures the anonymity of the complainant and provides resources to ensure their safety in all cases of sexual harassment.

3. Awareness Campaigns:

The ICC conducts awareness campaigns to educate students and staff about what constitutes sexual harassment and the means of redressal to prevent such incidents in the institution.

4. Zero Tolerance Policy:

The ICC is responsible for implementing a Zero Tolerance policy towards sexual harassment within the institution.
